Even if I am a fan of DC, I will not lie; I am still a dead crazy fan of Marvel. Certainly, they are several superhero characters, yet each story is unique.

Nevertheless, as I am moving forward with my writing career, I have had the opportunity to speak to a wonderful young entrepreneur in my generation, whose story, no spoilers, will probably figure in my next book.

His name is Djinaud Prophete, I mean Doctor Djinaud Prophete. Have you heard about his company Radiokam?

In the past six to ten months, we have had a lot going on in Haiti (especially in the capital). This has caused many young professionals to fly to different countries because of the fear they might get kidnapped or worst.

On the other hand, several young entrepreneurs have decided to stand still. Immaculate leadership as an influencer in his or her own course of action. Taking such a stance, they can inspire those who cannot leave or decide they will not leave.

However, before I dive into this story, I have a question for you. If you know who is Djinaud Prophete, what resemblance do you think there is between this young entrepreneur and the well-known Marvel superhero character Doctor Strange? If you do not have the answer, I will be glad to answer that.

First, a quick presentation:

Djinaud comes from a city in Haiti called Port-de-Paix. He was always a good high school student, academically speaking. Until he got into the medical faculty of the State University of Haiti. He was really close to his Mom. Unfortunately, his mother passed away, before that, he never got to experience any social struggles. Which made his student life/ professional path a hard one to bear. Every year as a university student, it was a struggle for him. For every single session, he was always among the last in terms of grades in his class. He needed to rely every time on his classmates for supports, by summarizing all notes taken, as well had after class hours just to catch up for the session. Because he was able to assemble the most brilliant medical students in the class.

Immediately after, when he finally managed to finish his five-year medical study, another obstacle awaited. The challenging reality of being unable to work with others. This time, it was about his ego and self-esteem. Arrogant and too much pride, worst, not able to communicate properly when he was now doing his “internship”. Even if he was a brilliant professional, people were always pissed about him. Not being a people person, a team player, he was constantly arguing with almost everyone.

It was not until he met his wife, Landy Barbara Stimphil, that everything started to change. His other half, or complement. His wife was the one to convince him to enter a networking organization so that he could discover his true self.

That is when he started to acknowledge his weaknesses, his flaws, his capabilities as well. During this period, he was very fired up. Always looking forward to reading the next book related to business, entrepreneurship, leadership, and technology. He started to understand what his purpose calling was about at that same period. To debug an identifying problem (mostly related to people with needs of social assistance) by proposing innovative solutions. That is why he and his wife came with an innovative solution under the name Radiokam Corporation.

Radiokam is an online interpretation platform for Medical Imaging (Radiology) examinations, namely Radiography, Scanner, Sonography, MRI. In order words, people living in a region that doesn’t have a place for radiology exams can now go online on this platform and do the follow-up real-time, without needing to move for example to the capital of Haiti just to find a place that does radiology exams properly.

A believer in spirituality, with a strong heart, mind, and character, Doctor Djinaud understands that to build a sustainable system/ business, you have to start with a strong foundation. What he means by that, you need to do your homework first. You have to do your research properly. Confirm what you have observed, affirm that it is actually feasible, and not end up doing entrepreneurship of subsistence. Moreover, between a technician, a manager, a leader, which position you can shine the most.

Now, let us answer the question of how both characters have similar traits: They both were Arrogant, prefer to work alone, Full of themselves, Narcissistic although Brilliant. Later, after each has embraced this new chapter in their life, they became an extraordinary person that people can rely on.

We all have this hero inside of us. This is what Doctor Djinaud and I have come to agree upon. That capacity to inspire, the will to strive and be courageous enough to brave the unknown, the uncertainty ahead. Because after all, this is what makes the ordinary, extraordinary. This is what makes an amazing hero out of a simple mortal.
